Self Care September - Day 22
Striking a Balance!
I sign up for emails too. There is this one email list I get messages from each and every day. Some days I read them and other days I don't. Today I happened upon one that grabbed by attention and made me want to read it; the title was "5 reasons why your not moving forward today"......and as I read it, I realised; that was me, I did that, yep that too, I did all those things and some I still do!
So do you want to know what are the "5 reasons why your not moving forward":
1. You change nothing and expect different results - awareness that something isn't working, won't change or fix it; but when that awareness leads to action; leads to change, then we get results.
2. You keep waiting for the right time - this was so me, I was always waiting for confirmation; waiting for someone else to make the decision or give me the okay to make the decision.....but I have learned through trial and error that it's okay to make a mistake. It's okay if it doesn't work out - I'll survive. I've survived all the big and little things that life has thrown my way up until now and I'll continue to survive.
3. Your planning and focus are in disarray - I may not have totally sorted this one just yet! Some days are definitely better than others. I have a tendency to get really excited and let my attention get carried away. However, I am learning to be much better at staying focused and disciplined in getting things done, as otherwise it leads to stress and disharmony, and that requires a lot of Reiki to make it better ![]()
4. You make the rejections of yesterday the focal point of today - this is another one I definitely related to in the past. I carried so many thoughts of other peoples opinions, thoughts of what other people had to say or what they thought......maybe it's getting older, or perhaps wiser, but it's not my business what others say or think about me, I only need my own approval now.
5. You refuse to accept necessary risks - taking the plunge into the unknown. I read a long time ago a wonderful idea by Coletter Baron Reid, an inspirational speaker and writer.....what would happen if we changed our attitude to change, to the unknown. What if, instead of fearing what we do not know; we adopt the attitude of awe and excitedment towards the unknown....afterall anything could happen, it could just be magical!
Inspiration for todays blog post has been taken from the daily thoughts of Marc and Angel at www.marcandangel.com - they write some very inspiring and insightful daily posts that are well worth exploring!
