				<title>Do you Keep a Promise?</title>

It's keeping a promise.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When we promise to do something and follow through it gives us a boost to our self esteem, confidence and integrity. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;More often than not though we keep promises to others before keeping them for ourselves. Is this you?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When we make a promise to ourselves and we break it, we break trust with ourselves. No matter the excuses we use, we reinforce a message to ourselves that we don't deserve to put ourselves first. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Think of a time in your life when you make a decision, a promise and you stuck to it - how did it make you feel?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In order to see change in your life; in order to transform your life, you must choose integrity; you must choose to make a promise but above all you must choose to KEEP your promise.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;What transformation do you want to see?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;What promise do you need to make to yourself?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Write it down and put it some where you will see it every day - remind yourself of the promise you've made and remember that you DESERVE to see it through.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;font size="3"&gt;About the Author:&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Emily Sweeney is a Holistic Therapist and Teacher. 				<title>What is Standing in the Way of your Self Care?</title>

				<description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;img src="http://www.tranquilspirit.ie/What's Standing in the Way of Your Self Care-.png"/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;font size="3"&gt;"&lt;i&gt;I have no time for myself! &amp;#160;If only! &amp;#160;When would I get time for that&lt;/i&gt;?"&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;NO TIME is often top of the list for reasons as to what is stopping us from taking time to care for ourselves. &amp;#160;Have you ever found yourself:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; feeling stressed, overwhelmed, tired and still needing to push through because other people are depending on us.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; feeling like a "busy fool" running around the whole day and still with an endless to-do list at the end of the day.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; feeling pulled in all directions by demands on your energy by your children, partner, or work colleagues.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; feeling too busy to take a break, all you can do for yourself at the end of the day, is collapse into the couch and zone out in front of the TV.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; feeling as though you're waiting constantly for life to "return to normal" even though it never does.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Lifestyle factors can take a huge toll on our ability to find time for ourselves and as a stay-at-home Mum to three school going children, self employed, running my own business and volunteering with a local community based organisation I completely understand the challenges of trying to find time for myself in my very busy week. &amp;#160;Having suffered with chronic depression however, I also know how important selfcare is for my mental and emotional wellbeing and for building resilience to the tough times that happen to all of us in our lives.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When I fail to take time for myself I find myself more irritable, stressed, tired and grumpy. &amp;#160;Those that I care about don't get the BEST VERSION OF ME that they deserve. &amp;#160;At the end of the day I realise I have been snappy with my kids or my husband over the slightest things. &amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;My motivation for my work suffers and I find myself without the energy to give my full focus and attention to what I am doing. &amp;#160;This is totally unfair to my clients. &amp;#160;As a Holistic Therapist not only should I practice what I preach, but if I'm not taking the time to care for myself I CANNOT CARE FOR OTHERS. &amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;My MINDSET is off kilter. &amp;#160;I tend to feel an overall dissassifaction wtih life and a pessimistic mindset kicks in ("it's always like this", "life will never get any better", "this always happens to me"). &amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Eventually if I fail to take steps to address the situation, my PHYSICAL BODY suffers. &amp;#160;My immune system cannot cope with the high stress levels and I pick up every cold, flu or virus going. &amp;#160;This is a vicious cycle because when I get sick I need to take time off - time that I really cannot afford to take because people are depending on me and I have so much to do!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Taking some time for myself each day (even only 15 minutes some days) has incremental benefits and sets me up for a totally different outlook on life. &amp;#160;When I put myself top of my priorities I have found I:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; feel focused,&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; feel refreshed, relaxed and rejuvenated&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; feel better about myself and tend to have a kinder inner voice,&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; have a more positive mindset and outlook on life,&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; feel my energy expand and I have an innate ability to get things done!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Noticing the difference some self care makes to my day I have taken steps to ensure that I don't let a day pass without some "me time" factored into my priorities. &amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;However I have also struggled to implement a self care plan that works in my busy life. &amp;#160;With young children, appointments, work and volunteering factored into the mix I have learned to be strategic with my self care. &amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Here's what I've found:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;=&amp;gt; I have to PLAN IT!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It doesnt' sound pretty but if it's not planned it won't happen. &amp;#160;How often have you found yourself saying I'll do it tomorrow, next week, next month.....never?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If this is you then I recommend to clear on your day to day routine, what happens for you each and every day, what is happening this week? &amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When can you find 10 minutes for yourself? &amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I've found getting up 30 minute earlier has worked for me. &amp;#160;I get a quiet house and I spend 15 minutes with gentle Yoga stretches and then 15 minutes in mediation or self healing. &amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;By the time my husband's alarm clock is going off I'm making the coffee and getting the lunches ready for school!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;=&amp;gt; DECIDE on WHAT needs ATTENTION!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Self Care covers a lot of different areas of lifestyle. &amp;#160;For me finding some gentle relaxation, calm and focus is what makes a difference to my day, but everyone's self care needs will vary.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;What area of your life is in most need of attention right now?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; If it's physical exercise then what can you fit in? &amp;#160;A walk in the fresh air, going for a run, getting out of the house for headspace? &amp;#160;If you cannot leave the house because there is no one to mind the kids, then can you do something early in the morning while they sleep, or better yet can you include them in your physical activity?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; It you need to fit some relaxation or clarity into your day and de-stress, try some meditation or healing time. &amp;#160;What can you do for yourself? &amp;#160;Listen to a guided meditation, give yourself some healing time and listen to your body?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; If your diet and nutrition require attention keeping a food diary to note the choices you are making and setting aside some time for planning meals and having only the things you "should" be eating helps. &amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This is another area I have struggled with for myself, but I've found that taking time to care for myself with gentle exercise and meditation has helped me to feel better, and this in turn helps me to make healthier choices in what I eat. &amp;#160;So this may be an area you can build up to.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;=&amp;gt; MEASURE Progress!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I finish my self care each day with writing in my journal and I also pull a daily Angel card to help me to stay focused and positive.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;How can you track your progress? &amp;#160;Do you journal or simply a tick on your calendar? &amp;#160;Recording your progress and measuring your self care activity &amp;#160;you will begin to notice a pattern to your moods and how you are feeling. &amp;#160;Those weeks that you take the time to care for yourself will feel very different to the weeks that you do not. &amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The key to progress is to start SMALL and build up over time. &amp;#160;Little and often is better than big and erratic. &amp;#160;Your mind and body will respond to any gentle attention you give it on a daily basis and will begin to expect that tender loving care, so it is better to begin with what you can, even 10 minutes will begin to make a difference when you are CONSISTENT with your practice.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;=&amp;gt; REWARD&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Who doesn't love a treat every now and then!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Something I use for myself as a reward system is to pop &amp;#8364;2 in a jar each day I have practised some healing or meditation. &amp;#160;At the end of 30 days consequetive practice I have &amp;#8364;60 to spend on myself.  I usually book a Healing session or massage or something as a treat and as a complement to my own self care practice. Thsi doesn't replace my own self care routine, rather it acts as a reward for staying with my promise to myself. &amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The greater reward of course is the positive benefits that I get from caring for myself, but it's always nice to have something to look forward to.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;How can you reward yourself?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;=&amp;gt; REVIEW and ADJUST&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Keeping track of my self care practice in my journal helps me to review my routines and when situations occur that interrupt or affect my self care it enables me to see what is working for me and what needs to change. &amp;#160;For example late nights play havoc with my ability to get up at 6am, so I tend to limit any plans that will keep me up past ten o'clock. &amp;#160;Obviously there are execeptions to the rule, it's nice to have a social life too!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you're tracking your progress, don't give up if you've missed a few days. &amp;#160;Instead, take time to review what happened to prevent you from having that time for yourself and decide how you can adjust your routine to suit the changes. &amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Life is not fixed, so our self care practice needs to evolve with it!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Once you've begun any new practice in your life it can be hard to stay with it when unexpected changes to our routine occur. &amp;#160;Life has a habit of getting in the way, but if you have set yourself a small goal staying with it is important to seeing a change in how you feel. &amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;As well as the physical, mental and emotional benefits that self care gives to us having a goal or a focus in mind is a great way of staying on track. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;There is a deeper aspect to self care. &amp;#160;Taking time for ourselves shows a healthly level of self esteem, self-love and self-belief. &amp;#160;It shows deep down that we respect ourselves and know that we are worthy of our time, care and attention. &amp;#160;Having lived with chronic depression I also know that a lack of self care and taking time to care for our basic needs to feel Loved and nurtured can be indicitive of a much deeper blockage that may require help and support to heal. &amp;#160;If this is the case, there is no need to suffer any longer than you already have. &amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you struggle to implement self care into your life, consider asking yourself why it is that you cannot give yourself this time? &amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you require support or help with identifying what is blocking you from self care, self love or feeling worthy to take some time for yourself then schedule a self care support call with me. &amp;#160;I am happy to chat with you and help you identify what is getting in the way to giving yourself that time, care and attention.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In 30 minutes I will help you:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;=&amp;gt; to identify what is the core problem or the root to what is preventing you from taking time for yourself,&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;=&amp;gt; to figure out what is currently blocking you from taking steps to address the problem,&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;=&amp;gt; understand how to take time for yourself &lt;i&gt;guilt free,&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;=&amp;gt; and you will discover what ONE STEP you can implement RIGHT NOW to make a difference to how you are feeling.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Don't block yourself from having the life you want. &amp;#160;It is possible to feel better and to put your self top of your priorities, I know because I've been where you are and I've felt how you've felt; but I also know it is possible to get help and to change you life.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Schdeule a self care call with me &lt;a target="_blank" href="http://bit.ly/selfcarecall"&gt;bit.ly/selfcarecall&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;What's standing in the way of your self care? &amp;#160;I would love to hear how you find time for yourself in the comments below.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Warmest wishes,&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Emily xo&lt;/p&gt;</description>

				<title>What's YOUR Missing Ingredient?</title>

"Life Now + ?XXX?&amp;#160; = Where You want to be!"&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Do you feel &lt;b&gt;trapped&lt;/b&gt; by your current life circumstances?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Do you feel that life will &lt;b&gt;never get any better &lt;/b&gt;than this?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Do you feel &lt;b&gt;lost&lt;/b&gt; or &lt;b&gt;indecisive&lt;/b&gt;?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Does it feel that &lt;b&gt;nothing&lt;/b&gt; is going your way?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Do you feel &lt;b&gt;frightened&lt;/b&gt; by life?&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Have you started to &lt;b&gt;give up even believing&lt;/b&gt; it's possible for life to be better? &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Are you &lt;b&gt;settling for less&lt;/b&gt; because you no longer feel anything better is possible for you?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;We all have good days and bad, ups and downs but when you are having more down days than up; then it's likely there is something interfering with your ability to live life fully and freely.&amp;#160; I am a firm believer that we can all make a difference and achieve a harmonious life that leaves you feeling fulfilled, no matter your life situation.&amp;#160; If you answered yes to the above questions, it's likely you may think that statement is a LOAD OF CRAP right now, but hear me out.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I remember getting to a stage in my own life, when I had GIVEN UP believing in myself or that a way of living; other than the miserable day to day existance I was experiencing was possible.&amp;#160; I had lost all drive, motivation or desire to make ANY effort to change how life was and I had to begun to resign myself to the belief that life was simply a series of PUT UP AND SHUT UP.&amp;#160; I found it impossible to imagine that life would or could get any better - maybe for other people, but not for ME.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I HID behind closed doors and stopped accepting invitations to socialize with my friends.&amp;#160; If we did get together, I put on a BRAVE face, did my best, but invariably I felt FRUMPY, out of sync and way too OLD for my years.&amp;#160; I just generally felt that I DIDN'T BELONG.&amp;#160; I began to feel irritated by everyone else's good life stories and even found myself getting slightly JEALOUS of others, which made me feel GUILTY and even worse about myself.&amp;#160; I found it impossible sometimes to genuinely RELATE to other people because I was so lost in my own BUBBLE OF MISERY.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It got to the stage where I began to MAKE-UP reasons why I couldn't meet friends, or AVOIDED phone calls or made up reasons why I wasn't available.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I created a BUBBLE OF ISOLATION around me where I didn't let anybody in.&amp;#160; I felt I would be okay if everyone else JUST LET ME BE.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It affected my relationship with my husband, with my family, and when I refused enough invitations eventually they stopped coming my way.&amp;#160; It got to the stage that if I wanted to save my sanity and my family life I had to make a decision - if there was any chance that life could get better, then it had to come from ME.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I had begun to read and learn about working with the energy of Angels since receiving an Angel card reading and after purchasing a deck of cards for myself it led me on a journey to explore a whole different side to myself.&amp;#160; I began to practice SIMPLE GUIDED MEDITATION and learned to go within myself for peace.&amp;#160; I began a REGULAR practice each day to take time to CARE FOR MYSELF, my inner self.&amp;#160; I took note of the information and messages I received when doing these exercises and what I found was a whole new perspective on myself and how I was living.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Gone was the judgment, the blame, the condemnation.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Instead I found a place of pure TRANQUILITY, understanding and FREEDOM TO EXPLORE my feelings safely.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In my life equation, the Angels became the missing ingredient that led me towards where I wanted to be in life - free from the pain and shakles of chronic DEPRESSION and LOW SELF ESTEEM and SELF BELIEF.&amp;#160; It gave me freedom to explore ideas and possibilities about myself I wouldn't have even considered.&amp;#160; It helped me to REBUILD and set the foundations of an INNER CORE STRENGTH and self esteem that I never would've believed possible.&amp;#160; It helped me to rebuild and establish real LOVING, CARING and SUPPORTIVE&amp;#160; RELATIONSHIPS.&amp;#160; It led me on a journey that I am still on, but I am miles and miles away from the isolated, lonely, miserable version of myself that locked herself away from the world and was scared to live fully.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you can identify with the questions, then likely you need to DISCOVER your missing ingredient.&amp;#160; Whatever that ingredient is, I know one thing for sure, it's NOT in the world OUTSIDE of yourself, the answer that you need is right inside YOU.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you long to be free to live a life that feels free, and that you are LIVING FULLY o the very BEST of your ability, it starts with YOU.&amp;#160; 				<title>Get to Know the Real You</title>

				<description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;img height="312" width="373" src="http://www.tranquilspirit.ie/Connect%20with%20your%20Tranquil%20Spirit.png"/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Have you ever been surprised by some one else describing you and it sounds as though they are talking about a different person?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Do you consider yourself to have a good opinion of yourself or are you overly critical or harsh with yourself?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Do you hold yourself accountable to such a high standard that it's impossible to live up to or do you have a balanced perspective?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;How we see ourselves can be shaped by so many factors in our life.&amp;#160; It is shaped by our upbringing, our culture, our society.&amp;#160; It is shaped by our experiencces throughout life and by who we have been surrounded by.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I remember my very first date with my husband and how he showered me with compliments to such a degree that I really didn't believe a word of it.&amp;#160; I openly accused him of having an ulterior motive and asked him what he was "after." His response to me was amazement at how I couldn't see myself clearly and this reminded me of conversations I'd had with friends that also didn't seem to correlate the person they described with who I thought I was.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;For most of my life growing up I had very low levels of self-esteem and self-belief.&amp;#160; I felt very limited in my ability to believe I could make a difference in my own life and this led me to often feel stuck, indecisive, unmotivated and uninspired.&amp;#160; I found myself easily swayed by others when they showed conviction in their beliefs and opinions and I often wished I knew my own mind better.&amp;#160; I found it very hard to see my way clearly in most areas of my life, because at the heart of it I had no real clear idea of who I was and what I wanted for myself.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The consequences of having very shoddy foundations in my self belief meant I had an unbalanced dialogue going on in my mind.&amp;#160; I had an unbalanced sense of self and this led to a very pessimistic viewpoint of the world and my place in it.&amp;#160; Our bodies respond to the constant negativity with it's own negativity and I found myself stressed, tired, lethargic and eventually diagnosed with chronic depression.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I liken my experience as a Hamster that has lost control of the spinning wheel it's playing with, until finally the momentum of the wheel has taken over and the poor hamster (me) has fallen and is being bumped around by the wheel (life itself).&amp;#160; My negative view of myself, coupled with a lack of self esteem and self belief had finally brought me to my knees and I had to begin to rebuild my life from the inside out.&amp;#160; My version of who I was and what I was capable of in life didn't work and I needed to rebuild my life, starting with a basic foundation and understanding of myself.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Initially I had no clue how I was going to do that.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If we feel stuck, how do we get unstuck?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If we feel indecisive, how do we start to get decisive?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If we lack direction, how do we engage our inner compass?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If we've no motivation, how do we find motivation and inspiration to try?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I found the answer for me was; SURRENDER and GO WITHIN!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;As the metaphorical hamster, I'd had enough.&amp;#160; I couldn't take any more information on board, I needed to crash in order to rebuild my life.&amp;#160; I needed to simply accept that life as it stood wasn't working for me (surrender) and in order to rebuild my life, and set firm foundations for myself going forward I needed to get a more balanced perspective on myself (go-within).&amp;#160; That's exactly what I did.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When we go within we go beyond the egoic mind, which is full of opinions, beliefs and judgement.&amp;#160; We go into a space of quiet contemplation beyond our thinking mind and emotions.&amp;#160; We go into our tranquil spirit.&amp;#160; A font of peace where we can ask our inner selves and hear the real truth that lies within us.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When we SURRENDER and GO WITHIN:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; we stop pushing for answers and we start paying attention.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; we stop pushing for answers and we start listening.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; we stop pushing for answers and we gain insight, clarity and a deeper perspective.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; we stop pushing and we let another side to ourselves do the talking.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; we stop fighting with life and we release the pent up energy that is needed to hold all the tension stress and emotional resistance at bay.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; we stop fighting life and we find peace below the surface.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; we stop pushing and we find our flow and learn to live life rather than do battle.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;How do we go within?&amp;#160; Well for me it began with self healing, learning to listen to my body.&amp;#160; Then it became through meditation.&amp;#160; Other times it can take place on a meditative walk or simply when allowing myself some time to close my eyes and listen.&amp;#160; It requires an open heart and an open mind to simply let yourself go deep within yourself and access your tranquil spirit.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;On my From Trapped to Free online program, this is the very first lesson I teach.&amp;#160; How to get to know the real you.&amp;#160; One of the exercises I share is a simple meditation to go within and ask your tranquil self some questions.&amp;#160; You don't need to be trained in any form of healing to do this, simply allowing yourself the time to relax and drop into a meditative state is enough.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Try the exercise.&amp;#160; 				<title>Fine Tuning the Laws of Gratitude</title>

Indeed you may have the certificates on the wall and numerous others filed away.&amp;#160; Do you also have the specially printed limited edition notebook and are so focused on blessings it's almost painful........but the abundance you're looking for still isn't rolling in!&amp;#160; What is going wrong????&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I'm talking about the Law of Gratitude of course, but sometimes we can feel so sick of trying to feel grateful when the same s**t keeps coming our way.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Is this you?&amp;#160; Are you finding yourself frustrated at the universe?&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Do you feel you're doing everything you should but still it seems nothing is changing?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Then you're NOT ALONE!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I know what it feels like to have all the know how and all the experience of doing what you think is the RIGHT THING only to find that life still seems to be throwing a lot of crap in my direction.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;However, all is not lost! &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Over the years it seems I've turned into a PERSEVERING and stubbornly PERSISTENT student of life and I feel I may have IDENTIFIED some of the FINER ASPECTS of working with the Laws of Gratitude and the ENERGY of the UNIVERSE that we aren't always told about and have to find out the hard way.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;To save YOU some of the hard work and painful experiences I've had along the way I'm going to SHARE what I've found with you, in the hopes that it will help you to KEEP GOING and keep TRYING to find the right ingredients to attracting the life that you want for yourself!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I have shelves of self help books.&amp;#160; I've followed the guru's and I've signed up for every email list there is.&amp;#160; I too have the certiciates of courses upon courses, some have made it onto my healing room wall and others have not.&amp;#160; I've prayed, cajolled and even bartered with God and the universe.&amp;#160; On my lowest days I've felt like GIVING IT ALL UP and putting up with life just because.....meh, I couldn't be bothered anymore!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;However, that stubborn persistent little voice deep inside kept niggling:&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; If I give up trying I'm giving up on my DREAMS. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; If I give up now I'll be left wondering - WHAT IF?&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; If I give up now I'll continue to feel that I'm NOT GOOD ENOUGH to receive or make my life better than it is.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Actually not only would I continue to feel that way I'd be TELLING MYSELF it's TRUE because I won't even try to tell myself anything different; by TRYING to make a difference.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;But what if I STAY WITH IT and FINE TUNE the process?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; I may discover HOW it works for ME!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; I may begin to see RESULTS!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; I may GROW personally and ACHIEVE something for myself!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Unless I TRY I will never KNOW!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So I did just that.&amp;#160; I chose to STICK WITH THE PROCESS and I started to LEARN how to fine tune it for MYSELF.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I'd like to share what I discovered in FOUR SIMPLE STEPS!&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Having said that these steps weren't EASY, they didn't present themselves to me in the neatly ORGANIZED format I'm sharing with you.&amp;#160; They came at me all together in a RUSH, a whilrlwind of experience, feelings, thoughts and insights that sent my mind and my energy into CHOAS until I found some sense in the madness I was experiencing.&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; So hopefully to SAVE YOU FROM THE CHAOS here is what I discovered, in digestible format:&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Step 1: CLARITY&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; What are you trying to attract?&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Asking the universe to shower you with abundance is like sending your child to the supermarket for food.&amp;#160; There's too much to choose from.&amp;#160; So let's get a little clearer.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You ask the universe for "financial" abundance; unfortunately this too poses a problem.&amp;#160; You've only told your child that you want food for dinner (their idea of dinner may not be yours).&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Ask the universe to shower you with more than enough financial abundance to cover your household bills; your personal needs and savings for rainy days is getting a little bit clearer again.&amp;#160; Your little shopper now knows you're looking for Steak!&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you want to be extra clear tell the universe you want X amount of financial flow coming your way every month!&amp;#160; You're little shopper now knows you're looking for 1.5" thick 14 oz Sirloin Steak - Voil&amp;#225; you've placed a clear order!&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Step 2: AWARENESS&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; What are your thoughts, words and actions attracting?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So you've placed your clear order with the universe.&amp;#160; Our metaphorical child is setting out towards the supermarket to pick up your 1.5" thick 14 oz Sirloin Steak; but you start to think "&lt;i&gt;it's never going to happen for me&lt;/i&gt;" (the child stalls); you think or say out loud, "&lt;i&gt;I'm broke&lt;/i&gt;", "&lt;i&gt;I can't afford that&lt;/i&gt;" (the child is getting confused now - do you still want what you ordered?) finally you distract yourself from your financial concerns by avoiding them at all cost (the child now thinks you no longer want your order filled and silently awaits further instruction from you).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If we've placed an order with the universe but behave in such a way that we show little faith or belief in what we're doing then our words and wishes are completely negated by what we think, say and do!&amp;#160; If your thoughts, words and actions are not aligned with attracting what you want then you're repelling it from entering your life.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It's not enough to make a wish and hope it'll come through, you must take steps towards creating the reality too.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Using our finanical example, if you're trying to attract X amount of financial flow your way at the moment but avoid dealing with your current finanical circumstances, either by avoiding looking at or accounting for your spending; if you have no clarity on your incomings and outgoings and avoid looking at ways that you can save or reduce spending; then your actions are telling the universe you don't care.&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you're thoughts are focused on lack, only allowing yourself to see what you don't have rather than acknowledging both sides of the equation then you're attracting more of the same.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you use words such as "I don't have enough", "I cannot afford it" or "I'm broke" this is what the universe delivers.&amp;#160; In terms of language a great reframing for these situations is to say instead "I CHOOSE not to buy this"; this statement is empowering taking the control and decisions about your financial matters back into your hands.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Another energy that blocks the flow is if your life is filled with clutter; a cluttered home, car or work environment all infer a cluttered mind.&amp;#160; There is no space for 'more' or 'new' to enter.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Awareness of the unconscious message you present to the universe helps you to align your hopes and dreams with your energy.&amp;#160; It grounds your dreams into reality.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Step 3: HEALING/DELVING DEEPER&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Where do I need to make changes?&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This has always been the most challenging step and usually the one that most people get stuck on.&amp;#160; When you're clear on what you want in life and are taking steps to address your thoughts, language and action about it, but there is still that deep inner feeling that "I'm not good enough to have that life" or "I don't deserve it" or "I'm not worthy" and "it won't work for me" then there is a deeper inner gremlin at play.&amp;#160; This is where I've found my healing back ground helps.&amp;#160; By delving deeper into the thoughts or beliefs that block my energy flow I have learned to question and resolve those inner conflicts.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I see them like boulders in a flowing river that obstruct or slow the flow of water.&amp;#160; By chipping away at them I can identify what they represent or break them into smaller more managible pebbles that don't block the path of my energy.&amp;#160; One way of doing this is to relax into a meditative state and ask yourself questions about the boulder:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; What does it represent?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; Why is it here?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; What do I need to resolve?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt; How can I resolve this?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If this process is too hard for you to manage alone, consider working with someone to help you to tap into those aspects within your energy that you struggle to process on your own.&amp;#160; That brings me to the final step....&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Step 4: RECEIVING&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Who can help me?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;One of the misconceptions about the Laws of Gratitude is that they are delivered magically and we often dismiss those wonderful blessings that come our way through the intervention of other people in our lives.&amp;#160; Sometimes its through those we already know, other times its someone new that enters our life.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When you're working through the third step of Healing, consider what could help you to delve deeper and resolve any blockages more easily.&amp;#160; Perhaps something as simple as finding the perfect "how to" video on You Tube or reading a wonderfully inspiring book that resonates.&amp;#160; Perhaps there is a speaker, an author, a guru or a leader who's message speaks to you.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Help comes in many forms.&amp;#160; A word of caution though.&amp;#160; Don't follow advice blindly.&amp;#160; I have found over the years that there are many people who know the THEORY of things but have little real knowledge or EXPERIENCE about what they preach.&amp;#160; Be discerning in those who's guidance you follow.&amp;#160; Listen to those who not only speak but lead by EXAMPLE and there is a genuine quality to what they have to say.&amp;#160; Above all stick with your gut.&amp;#160; You will resonate with the right person if you give them time to reveal themselves to you. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;There you have it!&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;My four simple steps to FINE TUNING THE LAWS OF GRATITUDE.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I would love to tell you that I have achieved all that I have ever dreamed but the honest truth is that my life like everyone else's Life is a work in progress.&amp;#160; 				<title>Energy Vampires - Who and what is draining your energy?</title>

				<description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;img height="269" width="322" src="http://www.tranquilspirit.ie/Energy%20Vampires.png"/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;As a teenager I had a fascination with vampires.&amp;#160; For my sixteenth birthday my parents gifted me a beautiful hard bound copy of Bram Stoker's Dracula and there were many movies of that genre doing the rounds in the cinema.&amp;#160; The idea of the charismatic gentleman, alluring and enticing; making promises that draw you in before sinking their fangs into your life force and draining you of power and life is a dramatic metaphor for some of the relationships or situations we find ourselves in, over the course of our lives.&amp;#160; And yet the comparison is apt.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I remember hearing the term "energy vampire" when I first began training in Reiki energy healing 12 years ago now.&amp;#160; It was a term that stuck in my mind because of my fascination with the subject.&amp;#160;&amp;#160; Energy Vampires are people, situations or circumstances that occur in our lives that appear wonderful on the outside but leave us feeling drained and exhausted physically, mentally or emotionally.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It can be hard to identify an energy vampire before they strike but there are some signs to be aware of.&amp;#160; People who I would term as energy vampires tend to either consciously or unconsciously identify something in you that they feel they are lacking in themselves and while they appear friendly and affable on the surface, they have a drive to possess this "gift" for themselves.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You may identify people you currently know or have known with some of the traits below:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; They are drawn to you for your power.&amp;#160; They may seem to constantly refer to a trait, talent or ability that they admire about you.&amp;#160; Something that they believe is lacking in themselves.&amp;#160; While receiving compliments is always nice, there is something about the remarks that may make you feel slightly uncomfortable, or the constant repetition of admiration; as though they envy you rather than admire you.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; They&amp;#160; overstep your boundaries, or simply try too much too soon.&amp;#160; There is a constant need or drive for them to be with you, to be around you or to connect with you.&amp;#160; They may be someone you have just met or connected with and suddenly they are behaving as though you are best friends.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; They begin to drain your time by showing up uninvited, lengthy phone calls about nothing in particular or they are constantly in need of help from you.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; They drain your energy as they want your opinion, your advice, they need a little help, a lot of the time and yet they do little or nothing to help themselves or fail to take your advice or take action to resolve the issues they complain or worry you about.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; They do all the talking, or they don't listen to what you say to them.&amp;#160; If they do appear to listen, they don't really "hear you" and take little of what you say on board.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So what can you do if you identify someone in your life, in your circle of friends or colleagues as an energy vampire?&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;How do you protect your energy and focus from being drained by their constant need to possess you time, focus and energy?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;Take Back your Power.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Recognise that they can only drain you of time, focus or energy if you give them permission.&amp;#160; By responding to them or giving them your attention you are enabling them.&amp;#160; You decide if you want them around and if so, when and if you engage with them.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br type="_moz"/&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Set Boundaries.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;If they are dropping by, phoning or showing up at times that don't suit you or a little too often for your liking then nip it in the bud.&amp;#160; Don't invite them in if they call.&amp;#160; Let the call go to voicemail.&amp;#160; Advise them to call or arrange a time before dropping by.&amp;#160; Make yourself unavailable until they learn to respect your boundaries, your time and your environment.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br type="_moz"/&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Learn to say No if necessary.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;We can be so afraid of offending others by saying this little word.&amp;#160; However, think of the times that someone did not give you a straight answer and left you hanging.&amp;#160; I'm sure you would have preferred honestly up front.&amp;#160; My sister is brilliant at saying no.&amp;#160; If asked a direct question she does not hesitate to say no, without apology or excuse if that is what she means.&amp;#160; You are not offending someone by giving them a direct answer. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br type="_moz"/&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Be straight but kind.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;When someone is consistenly overstepping your boundaries, disrespecting your time, showing up uninvited or missing all your hints and clues you must use straight talking language with them.&amp;#160; If they aren't getting your hints, they never will, no matter how many times you try to work around what you're trying to say.&amp;#160; Say what you mean, mean what you say.&amp;#160; You don't need to be rude, but you do need to get straight to the point and use clear direct language that leaves no doubt about what you mean.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br type="_moz"/&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Don't talk in riddles or metaphor or try to hint - they don't get it or won't believe you mean it about them.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;If you've tried to drop a hint of two and it's not getting the desired response it's likely that they don't realise you're talking about them.&amp;#160; Again see point four above say what you mean, you don't need to be rude but you do need to be direct and clear.&amp;#160; &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;If you don't you may find yourself getting so frustrated that everything you want to say will come gushing out unfiltered and then you find yourself apologising - leaving you right back at point one - powerless.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br type="_moz"/&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Start to limit your interaction.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;If all else fails, limit the time you spend with these people in your life.&amp;#160; If you have been clear in your communication and you still find they are showing up or failing to respect the boundaries you place upon your interaction, then limit the time you spend in their company.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br type="_moz"/&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Shield your energy.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;In the horror movies you might wear a garlic necklace or a crucifix, however, I've found a simple energy shield can be quite effective to help us feel safe from energy vampires when we must be in their company.&amp;#160; See my previous blog post on using energy sheilds &lt;a target="_blank" href="http://www.tranquilspirit.ie/apps/blog/show/44165372-self-care-september-day-14"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ol&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you've identified an energy vampire in your life try the above steps to protect yourself and see if it helps you to reclaim your power and stop yourself from feeling drained mentally and emotionally.&amp;#160; Generally, those we identify as such are harmless except for the feelings they induce within us.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;However, if left unresolved over time the constant drain on our energy without taking steps and measures to protect ourselves can lead us to physical or mental and emotional ill health.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Taking steps towards protecting our energy and making time for ourselves and our self care are usually enough to keep the energy of others from having a negative impact upon us.&amp;#160; 				<title>Flick your Power Switch to Positive</title>

				<description>&lt;p&gt;&amp;#65279;&lt;img height="324" width="387" src="http://www.tranquilspirit.ie/Flick%20your%20Power%20Switch%20to%20Positive-1.png"/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Did you ever notice how one bad moment in a day can go from one bad day to a bad week to a bad month?&amp;#160; Do you wish you could simply flick a switch and turn your day around. To Flick the Switch to Positive.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I'm not talking about traumatic events but about those days when you simply feel MISERABLE, when you have an overwhelming feeling NOTHING IS GOING YOUR WAY; when EVERYONE and EVERYTHING is driving you nuts; your TIRED, physically and emotionally, perhaps you find yourself snapping at everyone and it feels as though it WILL NEVER GET BETTER?&amp;#160; Recognise those days?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;One of my friends today nicknamed me Miss Tranquility but let me assure you I TOO have THOSE DAYS.&amp;#160; No one's life is all rosie.&amp;#160; Whether it's through lack of adequate rest that I feel tired and exhausted or eating the wrong food; coming down off a sugar high, or failing to look after myself to the point where I am physically or mentally unwell (I was diagnosed with chronic depression for the FIRST time aged 22, I'm - ahem - a lot older now).&amp;#160; I understand how a bad day can turn into a bad week if I don't TAKE STEPS to make a difference.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If NOT addressed having a bad day can SPIRAL out into a bad week, or month and can cause us to make BAD DECISIONS, to act from a PLACE OF FEAR, TEMPER or LACK.&amp;#160; It can cause us to ALIENATE those who attempt to help us or with whom we need to COMMUNICATE.&amp;#160; It can create WALLS of ENERGY that block the flow of WHAT we really WANT to enter our lives.&amp;#160; Worse it can affect how we feel about OURSELVES and either lead to or exasperate FEELINGS of LOW SELF-ESTEEM, or SELF-WORTH; draining us of our power to THRIVE.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;However, there is always HOPE.&amp;#160; If we learn how to FLICK THE SWITCH and take ACTION to address how we're feeling, or what is happening we can nip that BAD MOOD DAY in the bud and prevent it from SPIRALLING into a BAD WEEK or a BAD MONTH.&amp;#160; It can reawaken our channels of COMMUNICATION and attract the POSITIVE energy we're searching for INTO OUR LIVES.&amp;#160; It can help us to MAKE EMPOWERING DECISIONS, to FEEL SUPPORTED and to COMMUNICATE our needs or our message EFFECTIVELY.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I have learned that in order to FLICK OUR POSITIVE SWITCH on we need to take the following steps:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; AWARENESS: &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Recognise the VICIOUS CYCLE between MINDSET, PHYSICAL Feelings and EMOTIONS:&amp;#160; &lt;br/&gt;What I mean by this is recognise that what you are thinking, how you feel physically and the emotions you are feeling, are all intricately interwoven.&amp;#160; For example, if you're feeling physically tired, but are trying to push through regardless, you may find yourself thinking "I can't do this" which causes you to feel useless, or inadequte.&amp;#160; If you're exhausted, it's unlikely you're thinking clearly and your thoughts and emotions feed into each other, as does your body's physical state.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;#160; BREAK THE CYCLE &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Take action in just one area or address one problem at a time.&amp;#160; If you're feeling physically tired, then get some rest.&amp;#160; If you're feeling miserable but cannot put it down to tiredness, or feeling tired is a symptom rather than the cause, then use an intervention to lift your mood - put on some upbeat music that you enjoy.&amp;#160; Take a gentle walk outdoors.&amp;#160; Use a meditation or visualization.&amp;#160; The important STEP is to address one AREA at a time to BREAK the cycle between mindset, physical body and emotions.&amp;#160; You CANNOT address all three at once, but by addressing one area it can have a KNOCK ON affect to the other areas.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; ACKNOWLEDGE THE CAUSE&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Once you've broken the cycle and hopefully lifted your MOOD.&amp;#160; You need to acknowledge where it came from, and identify how you can prevent it from happening again.&amp;#160; Again using the example of tired, WHY were you tired?&amp;#160; Did you stay up late, or through lack of sleep.&amp;#160; Have you been taking care of your energy, eating well or not eating?&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; IMPLEMENT A REGULAR PREVENTION PLAN&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If we keep repeating the same behaviour we will keep getting the same results.&amp;#160; If it's just one bad day then simply breaking the cycle and addressing it with action this one time should do the trick.&amp;#160; However, IF BAD DAYS ARE CONSISTENT then there is a consistant ACTION or LACK of ACTION that is happening that you are failing to address.&amp;#160; Putting a regular SELF CARE plan in place will ensure that those BAD DAYS are FEW and FAIR BETWEEN.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This is what helped me to keep chronic depression at bay. 				<title>How do you Plan your Self Care each Week?</title>

				<description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;img height="243" width="291" src="http://www.tranquilspirit.ie/How%20do%20you%20Plan%20your%20Self%20Care_.png"/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;As May begins the sun is shining outside the cabin window and I am planning my self care for the next week around the Archangels in preparation for teaching &lt;a target="_blank" href="http://www.tranquilspirit.ie/rahanni-courses"&gt;Rahanni Celestial Healing&lt;/a&gt; at the end of the month. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I do remember however not so long ago when self care was not at the top of my priorities list.  The only time I took for myself was when I was so exhausted and fed up that all I wanted was to take to the bed asking myself why did life have to be so hard and miserable.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It was on days like these that I found it hardest to motivate myself to try anything new.  Sometimes I did try to do something to help shift my mood - from listening to music; trying a little guided meditation or self healing to making the effort to get showered and dressed - "fake it till it was real" and it did work.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The real changes though, I have noticed, to my mood and my energy have happened ever since making self care a priority in my life and setting myself a self care routine.   I've also found it need not be hard work. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Initially for me thoughts of self care meant exercise and keeping fit, working up a sweat or losing weight.  However, with a little shift in mindset I've realized self care is simply dedicating some time each day to me.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Each weekday morning when I've sent the kids off to school I take some time to myself before starting work.  This time can include some yoga, some meditation or self healing and some journal work.  It changes and varies from week to week depending on what is happening for me with work or if the kids are in school or as my routine changes. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The one aspect that doesn't change is giving myself this time and the difference it makes to my whole day.  It's like flicking the power switch for my mood and energy. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I will admit this didn't happen overnight.  Finding the routine, the time of day, the schedule that worked for me took a little time.  It took patience and perseverance and it took a willingness to put myself first and decide that the way I was living was not working for me.  Eventually however, I did find what worked, what made a difference and now not only do I limit my bad days; but it has prevented bad days turning into bad weeks and bad weeks turning into bad months.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When you find what flicks your power switch on; make sure you plan ahead and include it into your day, into your week and into your month. 				<title>Six Steps to Making Changes</title>

The ones that come at 4am in the morning after nights of tossing and turning in bed.&amp;#160; Coming on the back of 3 to 4 weeks of feeling tired, fed-up, overwhelmed and with zero motivation I had begun to question what I was doing to myself.&amp;#160; As a Holistic Therapist who specialises in self care and helping others to prioritize their well being getting no sleep and waking at 3am and 4am in the morning was quite a sign that things were not right in my own life.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;That particular week things had come to a head and while I was advising many on my Wednesday evening Live Angel card readings broadcast to allow their inner light to shine, my inner light was feeling seriously dulled and I didn't have the energy or the heart to shine it.&amp;#160; Finally, at 4am on a Tuesday morning having not been able to sleep due to stress and worry about unpaid bills and more expenses coming up I had a break through.&amp;#160; This quiet but firm voice within me asked "Do I accept how life is right now, or do I take action and do something about it?" - I sat up! For the last few weeks I'd been coasting, hoping that life would magically change for me, but not doing anything to help those changes to take place.&amp;#160; The only way life would change, was if I took action to make it happen.&amp;#160; So I chose to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I got out of bed and I went down to the kitchen where I took out my Angel cards to help me to get some clarity, some focus and perspective on my current circumstances.&amp;#160; Then I took out a pen and piece of paper and began to write.&amp;#160; I wrote about what was happening, how it made me feel, what parts of my current situation were important, what parts were less so.&amp;#160; What was causing me pain and what I could do about it.&amp;#160; By the time the alarm clocks were going off I had a plan of action in place and I felt empowered, motivated and so much freer.&amp;#160; I also realized that this was not the first time I had gone down this path.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;There are many times in life that I get stuck.&amp;#160; There are many areas in life where I get stuck - financially, professionally, in relationships, in health.&amp;#160; The one thing that always helps me to make changes are the same steps that I had taken that morning.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;As a Holistic Therapist I use energy healing and oracle cards to help people care for themselves, heal themselves and focus on their well being, but when I have a breakthrough in my own life, I share it.&amp;#160; Just because I have trained in healing does not mean I have my life sorted, or that everything simply flows for me.&amp;#160; It means I have the knowledge, understanding and experience to do something about it, and this is what helps me help others to do the same.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So what did I do to go from dull, sleepless, disheartened and de-motivated into&amp;#160; a shining bright, bubble of enthusaism, motivation and healthy sleep patters again?&amp;#160; Let me break it down into 6 simple steps:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;Step 1:&amp;#160; &lt;b&gt;Decide&lt;/b&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The breakthrough for me happened with that one decision, to do something about it!&amp;#160; &lt;b&gt;The universe responds to how we feel and what we think&lt;/b&gt;.&amp;#160; If we do nothing to shape change our lives, the universe will continue to deliver the same ole stuff.&amp;#160; If we &lt;b&gt;decide to do something, then the universe delivers the support &lt;/b&gt;we need to make those changes - it all comes from the decision to change.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Step 2: &lt;b&gt;Get Clarity&lt;/b&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In order to know what I could do to impact change, I needed to get clear on where I was in my life right now.&amp;#160; I had to identify what is not working.&amp;#160; What I was unhappy with.&amp;#160; What is causing me pain.&amp;#160; What I am doing on a day to day basis, and a week to week basis that is re-enforcing this pattern of behaviour in my life.&amp;#160; In other words I needed to &lt;b&gt;get clear on the source of the problem so I could identify where I needed to make changes.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Step 3: Recognise &lt;b&gt;Who&lt;/b&gt; Needs to Change&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I'll give you a clue - it's always me!&amp;#160; No matter where the problem is in my life, whether it's finances, business, relationships, health.&amp;#160; &lt;b&gt;There is no one that can act for me, or make changes for me.&amp;#160; If must come from me.&lt;/b&gt;&amp;#160; Therefore, whether you're unhappy with your partner, your friend or your children - you cannot change them, or make the changes in their life - you can only change your own behavior and reactions to their actions.&amp;#160; Change in my life, comes about because of my actions.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Step 4:&amp;#160; &lt;b&gt;Focus on Action&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you're feeling stuck or unmotivated, chances are your head is full of the things you can't do.&amp;#160; Reminding yourself of what you can't do only wastes your time and your energy.&amp;#160; Change comes from taking action.&amp;#160; Instead &lt;b&gt;focus on the things you can do&lt;/b&gt;.&amp;#160; If your making big changes in your life, start with the smallest steps until they become a new habit, until the new habit becomes ingrained behaviour and the ingrained behaviour becomes a long lasting change in your life.&amp;#160; The only thing that is certain is that &lt;b&gt;if you do nothing - nothing will change&lt;/b&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Step 5:&amp;#160; &lt;b&gt;Use what you've got&lt;/b&gt;!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In some areas in our life we can believe that we are not capable of making the change because we don't possess the knowledge, the talent, the ability to do what must be done.&amp;#160; Here the thing though, no one is born knowing everything, &lt;b&gt;we all have to start somewhere&lt;/b&gt;.&amp;#160; Start with what you already know, what you already possess and use what you've got to start making changes.&amp;#160; A simple example is change your routine, adjust your schedule.&amp;#160; Practise saying no to others so you can say yes to yourself.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Step 6: Ask for &lt;b&gt;Help&lt;/b&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When we have used our own resources, when we have taken steps both big and small and we can go no further on our own - ask for help!&amp;#160; Whether it's from family and friends.&amp;#160; Whether you need to look up information online - view a "how to" video on You Tube or consult an expert.&amp;#160; When we accept help we are certain to get the job done quicker, more efficiently and to a higher standard than trying to go it alone.&amp;#160; I have learned the hard way that thinking I'm a perfectionist, really meant I was scared of asking for help - because I felt I was a failure by admitting I needed help.&amp;#160; In all honesty, no one has ever accused me of being a failure, it was all in my head.&amp;#160; The other thing I learned was t&lt;b&gt;he times I asked for help were the times that I made the most progress in my life.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;That's all there is to it.&amp;#160; No magic receipe for success.&amp;#160;&lt;b&gt; It begins with a decision, add some clarity, take decisive action, ask for help along the way and you should see positive lasting change in your life.&lt;/b&gt;&amp;#160; When you hit another hiccup along the way, then repeat, repeat, repeat.&amp;#160; Life is not a race to get to a set destination, it's a wonderful adverture that is full of possibilities.&amp;#160; If we want our life to be fulfilled then we are the only ones that can make that happen.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you're making changes in your life and you get to step 6 and need to ask for help - know that I'm always here.&amp;#160; 				<title>The Blessing of Saying YES!</title>
